As Mother’s Day approaches I always stop to reflect about how I give birth influences how I mother. Would I have been a different mother had I birthed differently? Just what does giving birth do to our ability to mother? I’d love to hear your thoughts in this Mother’s Day blog carnival. If you haven’t given birth yet, tell us how you think it will work for you.
The rules are simple:
- Write a post featuring your thoughts on motherhood and giving birth
- Send us a link to your post at birthactivist@gmail.com by May 7
- The blog carnival will run on May 9, 2010 (Mother’s Day)
I think water delivery is a good, as it will reduce the pain for mother.

I beleive that if my first born had been a C-section it would had significantly reduced the posibility of Breastfeeding my baby. I was lucky that time, there were a million things that could had turn that birth into a cesarean, but It din’t happen. I strugled very hard to Breastfeed and succeded.
My other 3 births were different, I was more aware of what I wanted, my options and rights. Having control over my birth gives me a great sense of accomplisment that doesn’t fade away. I did it, for my baby and me, and I will be able to face and overcome anything that will come our way.
