Seriously, someone needs to explain to Heather W. at Shine on Yahoo, that breastfeeding in the bathroom is not okay. Haven’t we been through this before like a gazillion times? Conveniently there is no contact given for her, though the blog is done for Better Homes and Gardens. So you’ll have to submit a question through the BH&G website. (Note, be sure to uncheck the box to subscribe to the free newsletter.)
Are you seriously ill educated enough to actually publish this statement?! You want a new mother and her newborn babe to breastfeed in an area where E. Coli is all over the place? Have you no clue the number of people who don’t wash their hands after wiping their ass and then proceed to touch everything around them?
Breastfeeding is the normal way to feed a baby despite your discomfort. I’d personally rather see you offended than risk my baby’s illness or even discomfort. You haven’t the slightest idea of how offensive I can be. Get over it.
Hi there,
We understand your concerns about this post and we are sorry it was published. You are absolutely right–this was inappropriate and we have issued an apology: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/food/the-9-commandments-of-dining-with-little-kids-1466320/.
We’re embarrassed and sorry that this offended you.

When I clicked through the link to the BH&G site, I read this at the top of the post:
”
Editor’s note: We apologize for the patently inappropriate sections, which we have removed from the post. We support breastfeeding moms — and all moms — in their desire to include their children in their public lives. (Click here for our official apology.)
We pledge to do better in the future in both the tone and content of our posts. See our latest post — parenting tips for eating out with children from real moms — here. Have your own tip to share? Send us yours at http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=72571226018&topic=13849.

I particularly enjoy the phrase “patently inappropriate”.
Seriously, is anyone being serious here? I AM SICK TO DEATH OF IGNORANT PEOPLE WHO ARE OFFENDED BY BREASTFEEDING BABIES. GET A LIFE, seriously.
I’m a little confused by commenters Cassandra and Ruth: BirthActivist isn’t recommending this article or supporting it, she’s encouraging her readership to express their outrage to BH&G. We have, and H&G has apologized profusely and removed the offending elements to the article. So yay for us and all breastfeeders!
