What Makes a Baby

Let’s face it, we see more and more families who start in non-traditional ways.  This can lead to lots of questions, particularly from kids awaiting a sibling.  Many of the traditional books about where babies come from simply don’t cut it.  If you’re in birth work, you’ll probably enjoy this new children’s book: What Makes a Baby  The beauty of it is that it works for all families, no matter how baby came into their lives or who is in their family.

  1. I just came across this book and am so excited to see it happen. As a lesbian parent, the theme definitely resonates, as well as for all of the non-LGBT families who utilize alternative methods to create their families. I wrote about this recently in a blog post titled, “One Way to Make a Baby, One Thousand Ways to Make a Family” – http://www.nourishing-roots.com/blog/

Thanks for posting about this book – it’s a wonderful resource for families. :)
